GOOGLE NEXUS CHARGER

New Nexus design language was applied to accessories. It was one of the first inductive charger working with phone and tablet. 4 magnets are placed around the coil to align perfectly the device; increasing charging efficiency. This technical challenge was achieved thanks to a close collaboration with engineers.
To improve the footprint the USB type A connector is fully integrated sideway to the power brick. The strain relief is contained within the type A housing. The 9 dots provide an elegant grip to remove the USB if needed.
A 0.5 mm radius was the best compromise between sharpness and ergonomy The power supply keep is pure square shape. By putting the part-line on the edges we achieved a zero draft molding while using a rough in mold texture. The Nexus logo is also debossed in mold and polished so no paint is needed reducing cost and improving yield.
